2012 Audi R8 Cars Gallery

Audi’s R8 supercar has caused quite a stir with its V8 and V10 gas variants, but Audi thought it would change things around by adding a V12 diesel into the mix for good measure. This R8 concept car deviates wildly from traditional gas-powered sports cars, but with a race-proven turbocharged diesel it might be one of the most promising exotic concept cars ever created.

Power for the concept comes from the automakers race-derived 6.0 liter V12 diesel motor, which was first used in the R10 Le Mans competition car, and is now available in the Audi Q7. The engine produces 500 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The peak torque, reached at only 1,750 rpm.

The car sprints to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds, according to Audi. Like most German automakers, Audi is probably reporting a very conservative acceleration time for this car.

Other highlights of the show car include a glass roof, an increased use of carbon fiber, revised front and rear aprons, and larger air intakes all around.

The car also features all-LED headlights, which are visually very appealing, not to mention very energy efficient and bright. With a color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin, the light emitted resembles daylight much more closely than xenon or even halogen light.

Earlier reports suggested that Audi would equip the R8 with a diesel engine for the 2009 model year, but the latest word is that the TDI R8 may never make it into production. Audi engineers are reporting that fitting the turbochargers into the allotted space is proving impossible, and the costs associated with making it fit would make it impossible for Audi to ever turn a profit from a TDI R8.

Does this mean the R8 lineup will eventually include V8, V10, and V12 powerplants? It’s too soon to know for sure, but we can hope.

Chassis

The chassis has been adapted from the integrated bodyframe, semi-monocoque, independently suspended design which debuted on the Discovery 3 in 2004. This gives the Range Rover Sport the refinement and structural rigidity advantages of a monocoque chassis with the robustness of a separate chassis design for off-road applications. It also allows for less expensive manufacturing of the vehicles due to a large number of common components. Although sitting on a modified version of the Discovery 3’s chassis, it is smaller than its more utilitarian sibling in every dimension with a wheelbase shorter by 140 mm (5.5 in). Its smaller dimensions and its raked roofline make it impossible to accommodate third-row occupants like the Discovery 3, but as a sports tourer it was never intended to be a seven-seater. Brembo front brakes are standard on all models except the TDV6.

Acura TSX

Acura TSX 2010

The Acura TSX is an entry-level luxury car manufactured by Honda. Introduced in April 2003, it was sold only in the United States and Canada, but from the 2009 model year on it will also be available in Mexico. It is sold in North America under the Acura luxury marque, where it filled the gap as Acura's 4-door, entry-level sedan when the Integra sedan was discontinued in 2001 (1996 in Canada since the EL was the Integra sedan's replacement there). The TSX would also eventually replace the Acura RSX in the US (which in turn succeeded the Acura Integra coupe). As of 2008, the TSX is the smallest vehicle in the Acura model line, other than the Civic-based CSX (and the preceding 1.6/1.7EL) sold only in Canada. All TSXs are built in Sayama, Saitama, Japan.

The Acura TSX is badge engineered from the CL-series Accord (also known as the European Accord or JDM Accord) sold in Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The TSX initially had a restyled interior and different suspension tuning than the European Accord when it was introduced; however since 2008 the interior is now standardized for all three markets. In the Australian & New Zealand, the CL-series is sold Accord Euro, a smaller mid-size car, where the USDM Accord is sold in the large car category. In North America, the TSX is sold alongside the mid-size luxury Acura TL, which is based on the USDM Accord.

Acura TSX Sportwagon
In March 2010, John Mendel, Honda North America, Executive Vice President for Sales, introduced the model year 2011 Acura TSX Sportwagon at the 2010 New York Auto Show. The Acura TSX Sport Wagon is touted as "the smart solution to an entry luxury buyer's need for everyday utility and practicality". The TSX Sport Wagon will maintain the sportiness of the Acura TSX sedan but have much greater utility, with far less initial purchase expense and subsequent operating cost than currently popular SUV and CUV models. Powered by the sedan's Honda K engine 2.4L DOHC inline four cylinder and suspended on the same four wheel independent sports suspension, the Acura TSX Sportwagon will offer the added functionality of a wagon, with the style, performance, luxury and efficiency of a well-balanced sport sedan.

Acura MDX

The Acura MDX, or Honda MDX

The Acura MDX, or Honda MDX as known in Japan and Australia (only first generation was imported) , is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by the Japanese automaker Acura since the 2001 model year. The MDX was the first crossover SUV to have third-row seating. It is related to the Honda Pilot. The alphanumeric moniker stands for "Multi-Dimensional luxury". It is built by Honda of Canada Manufacturing Ltd. in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It was introduced in late 2000 as a 2001 model, replacing the slow-selling U.S.-only body-on-frame SLX, based on the Isuzu Trooper. In Japan, it filled a gap when the Honda Horizon (also based on the Trooper) was discontinued in 1999. In 2003, the Honda MDX went on sale in Japan and Australia. Australian MDXs were all equipped with the 2001-2003 Touring 'Kiwi' style wheels and were all equipped with the Rear-Seat DVD entertainment system. For 2009, Acura created a crossover to slot above the MDX, called the ZDX, and it is a four-door coupe similar in appearance to the BMW X6 and the Honda Crosstour.

The Acura MDX comes with a high level of standard equipment, including a power moonroof, leather interior, and high intensity discharge (Xenon) low beam headlights. From 2007 - 2009 model years, three option packages were available: Sport, Technology and Entertainment.
  • The Technology Package includes the Acura/Alpine DVD-based satellite GPS navigation system with AcuraLink satellite communications with real-time traffic reporting (XM NavTraffic), a 410-watt Acura/ELS DTS Surround audio system with XM Satellite Radio, rearview camera, and a remote powered liftgate, operated either from the key's remote, inside the car or directly from the lift gate.
  • The Sport Package featured active suspension dampers (co-developed by Honda and Delphi) that dynamically improves handling according to road conditions with a button in the center stack to switch to Sport/Comfort modes. This Comfort/Sport mode uses magneto rheological dampers, which change their characteristics when a magnetic field is introduced (usually in milliseconds). The Sport package also includes unique 5-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, perforated leather seats and the items in the Technology package.
  • The Entertainment Package offers a flip-down 9-inch (230 mm) LCD screen with 2 wireless Dolby Digital headphones, second-row heated outboard seats, and a unique center-stack silver trim. The Entertainment Package is only available on Sport or Technology Package models as compared to the 1st Generation MDX where the Entertainment Package was available as a standalone package on Touring Models.

Daewoo Cars Images Revie

The history of the Daewoo car manufacturing company dates back some time ago, but Daewoo made their debut in the United States of America in 1999 with three different models of cars, the Lanos, Nubira and Leganza. The Daewoo cars have had their share of positive and negative reviews over the last few years, leading us to wonder just what a Daewoo has to offer potential drivers and whether these cars are worth purchasing used. The reviews that are discussed in this article are based on the models ranging from the years 1999 thru 2002.

Some reviews of the Daewoo Lanos have been both positive and some negative. To start with, most people seem to agree on the positive features the Lanos offer, including the great gas mileage and low end sticker price. Most say that for the money you pay you get a great in town car that is very fuel efficient. Although compact, this car has been said to offer great handling and decent power for a smaller engine and many love its sportier looking body style. Some negative comments made about the Lanos have been that the car does not go very fast, with the average top speeds maxing out in the 90-95 mph range and that replacement parts for these cars can be quite expensive.

Maserati Cars Pictures Gallery

Geneva, Switzerland — Is this the car that will sway even the most ardent Ferrari owner? With a dynamic new design that propels the increasingly popular Italian sports car maker into the modern era, this car is already making waves just weeks after its debut in Switzerland for the Geneva Motor Show.

Though it's not quite as quick as a Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ferrari F430, the new GranTurismo from Maserati has its sights set on vehicles like the Porsche Carrera 911, the BMW M6 Coupe and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. And while those three vehicles are often labelled as beautiful sports tourers, Maserati has created something quite capable of outshining them.
